Todays Master Mason
For Those In Search Of More Light
From The East

...According to English history, the first Grand Lodge of Freemasons was formed on the 24th of June 1717 at the Goose and Gridiron Ale House in London.  As we know all history is written by the victors, so this is still considered speculative since there are known articles of Scottish speculative/operative lodges during the 15th century.  But according to the English, this is where the first recorded Grand Lodge met and this is where Freemasonry became organized.  There are mysteries that surround the craft from the Poor Christian Knights that fought during the Crusades to the pyramids in Egypt.  Did the Freemasons simply appear from the fog in London or climb from the Highlands in Scotland?  Did they form from the sands in Babylon or from the mountains in China?  These are questions that the world has been asking for hundreds of years.

The young man that decides to join the Masons has a curiosity to learn more and he will get more.  He will learn that by having fellowship with other Freemasons that something else brought him to the Lodge other than simply curiosity.  It's a deep desire to learn more and better himself through fellowship, research, and reaching inside himself to locate the man he is meant to be.  So if you're a Mason beginning your journey for Enlightment or a seasoned Traveler, put on your traveling boots and get your walking stick, you're in for a long interesting journey.

"Freemasonry is a moral order, instituted by virtuous men, with the praiseworthy design of recalling to our remembrance the most sublime truths, in the midst of the most innocent and social pleasures, founded on liberality, brotherhood, love & charity"
